Drain Line Clearing with Camera Verification & New Toilet Installation (Tampa, FL)
In late February 2026, we responded to a home in Tampa, Florida for a small leak reported from an upstairs bathroom. Once on site, we focused on the drainage system because restricted flow and hidden blockages can cause fixtures to behave unpredictably. The fastest way to troubleshoot this kind of issue is with a combination of hands-on access, professional drain cleaning, and a sewer camera inspection to confirm pipe condition.
To get proper access, the toilet was removed and the area was kept clean and controlled so we could work directly from the flange. With the opening accessible, we used a powered snake machine to address a dense stoppage. We started with a smaller cable to test the restriction, then stepped up to a larger heavy-duty cable when the smaller line couldn’t penetrate the obstruction.
After clearing the blockage, we flushed and tested fixtures throughout the home and then ran a video pipe inspection to confirm the pipe condition and verify the line was open. We also located the exterior cleanout and checked key junction areas, including the connection near the vent pathway, to ensure the system was draining and venting properly. To finish, we installed a new American Standard Cadet Pro toilet, secured the base, ensured a watertight seal at the flange, and verified dependable performance with multiple flush tests.
Toilet Removed & Drain Snaking Setup
In this photo, the toilet is already pulled, giving us direct access to the drain opening. With the snake machine ready, we can work the cable through the line to break up the stoppage and restore proper drainage.
Camera Inspection to Confirm Pipe Condition
Here we’re running a sewer camera to verify the inside of the pipe is open and flowing. A video pipe inspection confirms the pipe condition and helps ensure the blockage is fully cleared—not just partially opened.
Sewer Scope Verification Pass
This is a follow-up sewer scope pass to confirm the line is clear and the camera can travel through the system without hitting a hard stop. It’s a critical step for verifying a successful drain cleaning and preventing repeat backups.
New Toilet Installed & Final Testing
The final step is the new toilet installation. We set the toilet, secured it properly, ensured a tight seal at the toilet flange, and performed multiple flush tests to confirm smooth drainage and reliable performance.
