Wall Leak Repair – Copper Pipe Replacement in Brandon, FL (October 2025)
Our plumbing team was called to a commercial kitchen in Brandon, FL to address a leak behind the wall near the hand sink in the dish pit area. Once the water supply was safely shut off, we opened the wall and discovered a leaking section of 1/2-inch copper pipe. These leaks can cause water damage and corrosion if not repaired quickly, especially in high-use dishwashing areas.
We removed the damaged copper section and performed a proper replacement using new copper tubing and fittings. The repair also included installing a new angle stop to ensure reliable shutoff control for future maintenance. All soldering was completed with lead-free materials, and the system was tested to confirm a watertight seal before closing the wall.
This kind of commercial plumbing repair helps maintain code compliance, prevent long-term damage, and minimize downtime for business operations. Below are photos from the service visit showing each step of the repair process, from exposing the leak to completing the final reassembly.

Wall Access Behind Hand Sink
This photo shows the wall opened behind the hand sink in the dish pit area. We exposed the plumbing to identify and access the leaking 1/2-inch copper pipe causing water damage inside the wall.

Leaking Copper Section Identified
Here, the damaged portion of the 1/2-inch copper line is exposed. The joint had a small pinhole leak that required cutting out and replacing the faulty section of tubing.

New Copper Section Installed
After removing the damaged pipe, we installed a new 1/2-inch copper section and soldered it securely in place using lead-free materials. This ensures long-term reliability and compliance with Florida plumbing standards.

Angle Stop Replaced & Repair Completed
The final step included installing a new angle stop valve for improved shutoff control and leak prevention. The water line was tested, confirmed leak-free, and prepared for wall restoration.
